| Description of the problem | The active headrest restraint inside the driver's seat deployed due to plastic clips inside breaking for no reason. Deployed while driving under normal conditions, hit driver in the back of the head, startling driver and nearly causing accident. This is a well-known issue, documented by hundreds of other owners of grand cherokee, yet chrysler/jeep has done nothing to remedy this or recall the faulty product. Having the deployed headrest makes it difficult to drive the vehicle, and there is no way to "reset" it, since the internal plastic pieces are broken. This is an on-going safety issue, as part of the vehicle's safety system now does not function. Also, i am worried that the other seat's restraint will deploy at any time. |
