Description of the problem	My 2013 jeep grand cherokee's alternator died. The battery light came on while pulling into the driveway and the next morning the jeep was dead. It is covered under the t36 recall. The pcm went as well and is supposedly also covered under the recall. However, the battery was also damaged and destroyed. This situation could have caused a fire. The dealer, bob mariano jeep dealer, at 146 manchester st, concord, nh 03301 tells me that i am responsible for replacing the battery. This cost should not be placed on the customer. The battery should be paid for by the dealer. The battery was damaged because of the faulty alternator, so was the pcm which is being covered. The short circuit that occurred in the alternator caused both the battery and pcm to die. So why should i pay for a new battery? The dealer is going to charge me $332. 50 for the battery plus $119. 90 to install the battery. The same mopar battery goes for approximately $230. 00. Again, the difference in price is appalling.
