| Description of the problem | Cold started vehicle. Waited for fast idle to subside (cool weather). Placed in drive and slowly accelerated into garage, appr 30 feet. Braked vehicle to full stop. Vehicle seemed to be under some level of power, more than idle speed with no acceleration by driver. Began to shift out of drive and once the shift lever was in the neutral slot, the engine rpms increased to about 4000 rpm. Engine was shut down in neutral to avoid shifting into park at high rpm. Second occurrence on 15nov2012, same situation. Contacted local dealer (bb - chrysler jeep) (16nov2012 0931), spoke with pm - service consultant who stated that there were no recalls or service bulletins on this vehicle for acceleration type problems. He recommended to bring in for inspection if it happens again. |
