Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2012 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the brake booster was on back order. On another occasion, the contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the brake pedal was applied and traveled to the floorboard. The brake pedal was pumped and there was an increase in stopping distance. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available. |
