Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2012 jeep grand cherokee. While operating the vehicle, the charging system warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle suddenly shut off. During the incident, the abs and stability control systems were disabled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the 180 amp alternator was faulty and damaged the battery and pcm, which included melting the electrical wiring. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered.
