| Description of the problem | Fuel tank has begun leaking diesel with less than 120000 miles on the vehicle. This is clearly the result of a design flaw on these diesel jeeps. The fuel tank is made of ferrous metal (steel) and is attached to the vehicle with a steel skid plate. There is very little clearance between the skid plate and the fuel tank. This results in the trapping of debris and moisture and resulting in rust damage to the fuel tank. This is a known issue with this vehicle that has been reported on several online consumer forums.
