Description of the problem	The vehicle fails to start unexpectedly. The condition appears to be intermittant occurs without warning, and can result in serious and dangerous consequences for the motorist, should the inability to re-start the vehicle occur when located in a remote area where help is not available. There have been and continue to be complaints by owners of this vehicle and similar year jeeps posted throughout the internet on related various forums. The general implication is that chrysler is aware of the problem but for some reason is not able to offer a solution. This has caused undue burden on the consumer, in addition to costs associated with ineffective repairs whether performed by certified chrysler dealer repair stations or independent repair entities. Stories of motorists being stranded and subjected to insecure situations or forced to leave their vehicles and finding alternative means of getting home or to a safe place are not uncommon. I urge the nhtsa to investigate how extensive this issue of failing jeep ignition systems is, and to force chrysler/fiat corporation to initiate a recall to fix this problem once and for all.
