| Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep grand cherokee. While the vehicle was parked and turned off, a child crossed over the driver's seat to exit the vehicle. He held the gear shift to support himself, which caused the vehicle to shift into drive. The vehicle sped down a hill and crashed into a tree. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop and the mechanic stated that the cable went into the shifting gear, which caused the vehicle to shift into gear without the key in the ignition. The body of the vehicle was repaired, but not the gear shift. The vehicle is still at the auto body shop. The contact would like someone from chrsyler to inspect the vehicle. The vin was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 43,000. |
