Description of the problem	Multiple times while driving my vehicle has suddenly lost power. I will be going 70 mph or 15 trying to accelerate and then it stalls out and won't accelerate. I will pull off to the side of the road and turn my car off and then back on and it will correct itself most of the time. I took my vehicle to a transmission place and they didn't know what it was. The conducted a transmission flush and replaced some electrical wiring and it seemed to help for about 4 months. Now just last friday (20 april 2012), i was trying to accelerate after pulling out into traffic and almost got broadsided because the car just wouldn't accelerate past 2. 5 rpms and 10 mph. Luckily the car heading straight for me slowed down and i was able to get out of the way for on coming 55 mph traffic. I looked on numerous websites and an ungodly amount of jeep owners have reported this same issue. I took my vehicle to the jeep dealer yesterday (23 april 2012) and they said they had to replace the electronic shifter module. I was getting codes u0404 and u0103. It cost $1051. 50 to fix. I checked on-line after, and that is what everyone else said that the jeep mechanics would recommend even though it would just break again 3 months later. One man even noted that the mechanic said that they have changed over 1,000 of those in his shop alone. I feel that this is a major safety issue and should be recalled! Jeep obviously knows this is going on.
