| Description of the problem | Whilst driving my jeep grand cherokee (equipped with the mercedes benz common rail diesel (crd) 3. 0 l engine) on i-410 at highway speed, the engine suddenly stopped, without any warning. This also made the power brakes and power steering inoperative. Today, the dealer tells me that this is caused by a faulty crankshaft position indicator sensor and is a fairly common occurrence. I should think this is a design flaw and should be corrected by the mfg. |
