| Description of the problem | After driving about 40 miles on highway, then turning onto local streets, all warning lights on dashboard lit up, message board flashed "transmission overtemp" warning, then "check gauges" warning. The vehicle went into limp home mode, no gauges worked, including speedometer. Once shut off, vehicle took a while before it would start again. Had vehicle towed to dealer. Dealer could not replicate or diagnose problem. I believe this is related to the crankshaft positioning sensor problem that prompted a recent recall of this engine by mercedes benz (3l crd engine). Chrysler would not acknowledge this problem. |
