| Description of the problem | The rear door handle on the drivers side broke. It cracked and the problem now is you cannot open the door. This is a definite safety hazard. The replacement part is $530 or you can get a kit for $150. The installation is $102. Why would there be a kit being produced if there wasn't a major problem? I spoke to chrysler customer care and they will not do anything. There are numerous complaints on the internet regarding this issue on the 2005 and 2006 jeep grand cherokees. From what i heard from fields in sanford the dealer the manufacturer sold inferior parts. Right now only one door is broken but i expect it will happen to the other 3. That particular door is rarely used so it was obviously defective. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. |
