Description of the problem	I was driving down an interstate when my car totally shut down. Had i not been in the right lane so that i could coast off the highway, the incident surely would have ended tragically. This has happened once before, but not in such a dangerous setting. I have a recall notice for this very problem,( p41) but the notice says that chrysler does not have the part needed to correct the problem. The recall notice states that if i do not feel safe, i should take the car to my dealer, have him repair it at my expense, and you will reimburse me. How can the dealer repair the car if the chrysler corporation says the part is not available? If the dealer is able to repair it, why should i have to pay since there is a recall? This is not logical to me. In the meantime, we feel very uneasy driving the car. We narrowly escaped one potentially fatal accident. The dealer refuses to give us a loaner car to use until the replacement part is available. We are quite frustrated. Can you give us any indication when the needed part will be available? Can you authorize the dealer to repair the problem at your expense? We have always been pleased with our jeep purchases, but this nonchalant attitude toward a very dangerous problem has really disappointed us. We look forward to hearing from you and hope for an amicable resolution to the problem.
