Description of the problemThe check engine light came on as i was leaving work. So i took it to auto zone and they did a diagnostic on it and they came back with a few possible oxygen sensor, exhaust leak, engine malfunction indicator. So i made an appointment with a chrysler dealership. The check engine light stayed on a couple of days then when i left work the afternoon i was to take it in to dealership the check engine light didn't come on. When i got to dealership i told them the light didn't come on. They said they might still try to figure out problem doing a diagnostic. Anyway a couple hours later they came back and said it was the (tcm) which is the transfer control module. It's in the computer part and it causes hesitation in the transmission and could cause other problems if not fixed. Now mind you it's a $900 fix which is expensive. My particular vehicle has a nag on it, it's part of the mcgeorge mercedes benz jeep grand cherokee. I'm surprised there's been no recall on this.
