Description of the problemI have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee that i've owned 2 years and have put 28,000 miles on it and my battery is dead. Not realizing what a pain it would be to get a new battery i thought oh well. Well upon contacting every auto place and multiple dealerships within a 25 mile radius i found out that no one carries this mopar/chrsyler battery. It has to be special ordered and to top it off it goes for between 120-150 and this is the only choice for this suv. Per the dealerships the battery does come with a 72 month warranty at least. So i call chrysler to see if they will prorate the battery being i've only the jeep 2 years and it's only 3 years old. Well of course they say no. When you purchase one of their cars the battery is only warranted for 36 months or 36,000 miles but if i go buy the exact same battery now they will warranty it for 72 months. To me this does not sound accurate but they refuse to help in anyway. They said there is absolutely nothing they can do. I am not asking for something for free but i believe the battery should be prorated.
