| Description of the problem | Orange passenger air bag light on at all times, even with passenger seat unoccupied since day of purchase. Customer was told at dealership that this was normal if seat was unoccupied. After a few months, the orange passenger air bag light and the red air bag light are on continuously, or the illuminations alternate every few minutes. Jeep cherokee taken to dealership. Customer was told it was a calibration problem, and that the orange light should only be on if between 1 and 25 pounds or so where in the seat. No problems for one month (lights were off, no passengers in the vehicle). Orange and red lights now alternating again every few minutes yesterday and today (march 1&2, 2006). *nm |
