Description of the problemI have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee and when travelling in cruise control at 55 mph and start up a steep grade, the transmission will shift out of overdrive into 3rd gear, then immediately shift into 2nd gear. This happens everytime this situation occurs. When this shiifing occurs the engine rpm goes from about 1600 rpm to 4000 rpm. If the road were not totally dry or if you approach a curve when this happens a person could easily lose control of the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer on 6/30/2004 and the service manager told me this is normal.*ak
