| Description of the problem | When breaking to come to a stop at a stop light, slowly rolling at about 5 mph, the car suddenly accelerated on its own and lurched forward. I had to press down on the break pedal very hard to stop the car, the same time it was accelerating. This lasted about 2 seconds, and then the acceleration stopped. When i returned home i took the car into the dealer and the dealer said that it would probably not be able to diagnose the problem unless it did it again when i took it in. It has not happened again since. The auto is a 2004 jeep grand cherokee with a v-8 engine. |
