Description of the problem	2004 jeep with 42k miles- the brake peddle has one inch of lateral movement. The dealer plans to replace the peddle assy. For about $1,000. My foot has slipped off the pedal when my shoes were wet. I am told that it can not be tighten up only replaced. To me this seems the problem is in the design on the brake linkage, and not due to normal were and tear. Its just a matter of time.
