Description of the problem2004 jeep grand cherokee, drivers seat broke a weld. I was driving about a year ago and the weld just broke. I haven't had a chance to get it fixed because i can't find a used replacement and dealership wants over $800 to fix. I have checked online and have found almost 2000 people with similar problems all stating the same thing, jeep doesn't have a recall for this and they can't find a replacement seat used or new for that matter and jeep dealer wants over $500 to fix the problem. I have also read that the people that have had the seat fixed or replaced the issue just happens again. I feel this is a safety issue as it broke while i was driving the vehicle which thank god did not cause a accident to happen only because i was not on a busy road and was able to recover from the initial shock of the seat breaking. I checked under the seat was able to see the metal broke right at the weld.
