| Description of the problem | Tl* - the contact called regarding the 2004 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated on 2/27/06 the driver's side heated seat element was replaced due to the driver's seat catching on fire. The seat was also replaced. On february 2, 2007 the seat started to smoke. The driver was able to turn the switch off before any further damage was done. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The contact stated that the defective heated seat element was replaced with another defective heated seat element. The contact received recall 06v197000 for the heated seat element.*ak |
