Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. The dealer stated that the air bag module would need to be replaced. There was a recall for the air bag failure under nhtsa campaign number: 12v527000 (air bags) but the part needed to complete the repair was not available. The contact was notified one year later that the recall repairs could be performed and the parts had become available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall service however, the air bag warning light remained illuminated after the repairs. The dealer stated that they only installed a jumper harness that disabled the air bag entirely. The contact believed the recall service was unacceptable because instead of repairing the air bag, the air bag was completely disabled and would not deploy in the event of a crash, presenting a safety hazard.
