| Description of the problem | The heat shield that protects and separates the gas tank from muffler preventing the heat from the muffler to overheat the gas tank has fallen from the brackets that holds this safety / heat shield in place. This heat shield is extremely important preventing any heat to damage the gas tank directly above. The brackets that held up the heat shield appeared to be of very poor quality and would tend to fail from my observation. Without this heat shield it appears a gas tank fire could occur in hot environments or possibly at idle without any air movement to cool the space between the gas tank and muffler. |
