| Description of the problem | Fuel emissions system. Repeated check engine light warning indications have been seen in this vehicle over the past year. Repeated trips to the dealership for service resulted in components being replaced erroneously. Most recent replacement required entire replacement of fuel tank and hoses due to excessive corrosion and deformation of the tank. The vehicle has approximately 65,000 miles of operation. This repeated issue has cost several hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs, lost time from work, and extreme concern over the safety of the vehicle's fuel system and emissions monitoring components. Degree of corrosion and level of failure on seals as reported by service technician seems very hazardous for the age and use history of vehicle. |
