Description of the problemS61/nhtsa 16v-668 occupant restraint controller - there was an accident about 1 year prior to this recall and the safety belts didn't restrain properly, as both driver and passenger were injured and after 19 months later are still being treated for injuries. The seat belt light indicator wouldn't go off when no seat belt was on even at speeds of 40+ miles. The vehicle was taken back to dealership for a fix and was told they couldn't find such an issue. It malfunctions periodically and will not go off as to no seat belt on when going 40+miles or light will come on but dinging noise or sometimes nothing will come on. There has even been a few times when the light comes on when both driver and passenger belts are on and secure. Chrysler issued a recall with no fix yet, but will not issue rental or loaner cars as their is no safety issue??? . I want to say all the issues started about a year after i bought the car, first with the vehicle locking me out of the car. The security system seized and i couldn't start my car or anything and it had to be towed at about 9,000 miles. This car was bought brand new. Filed another complaint on the drive train for this vehicle - i have had many issues with this vehicle. The dealership didn't seem to care at all. They would continue to tell me the didn't see anything wrong. I don't have the exact date with me - it was the end of september beginning of october in 2015, right after the car accident. I brought it back after i had received it back from the fixes to car after the accident and dealership said they checked everything and all is fine. It isn't fine and i still continue to have issues with it. It happens periodically and it is when the car is moving.
