Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep compass 4x4. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitoring system alerted him to check the front driver's side tire. The contact placed air in the tire. While driving from the fuel station and making a left turn, the cross member fractured into the tire. The vehicle was unable to be driven. The vehicle was near a repair facility and the mechanic diagnosed that the cross member had extensive rust to the point that it fractured into the frame. The vehicle was then towed to a second facility for diagnostic testing. A dealer was not contacted. The contact was uncertain if the vehicle was included in manufacturer extended warranty campaign number: x69 (front and rear cross member corrosion) and tsb number: 23012-14. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
