| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 jeep commander. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the front passenger side axle fractured causing the front passenger wheel to fracture and detach. In addition, the brake lines fractured and the brakes failed. The vehicle was skidding out of control and crashed into a concrete curb. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000. |
