| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle would no longer accelerate. The park assist warning message illuminated on the instrument panel and after shutting the engine off and restarting the engine, the vehicle proceeded to accelerate. The failure recurred intermittently at when the contact was driving at various speeds. On one occasion, the contact was unable to shift and secure the vehicle in any gear. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the electronic shifter module would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000. |
