Description of the problemMy 2007 jeep commander refuses to accelerate after the service park assist light comes on and all gear options highlight at the same time. This will happen without warning while driving down the road and or highway. The only way to get the vehicle to begin to accelerate again is to put the vehicle in neutral and apply the accelerator. It will also begin to accelerate while at a stop on its own. I have read many complaints of this exact and similar problems from other jeep commander owners. I have been waiting for a recall for this issue since other jeep commander owners has been charged for replacing transmission modules just to have this happen again. My commander is a 2007 v6 automatic transmission model. Here are a couple links i have found on issues. Http://www. Arfc. Org/complaints/2007/commander_4x4/power_train/problem. Aspx also http://www.
