| Description of the problem | We purchased a 2007 jeep commander on feb. 10. It has 2,000 miles on it. Last week, the engine "threw a rod" through the side of the engine requiring a new engine to be installed. It was the result of road rainwater being taken into the engine through the air intake. I am having to file a claim with my insurance company to replace the engine. The water on ther road was minimal. I continue to see jeep advertisements on television showing the jeep commander driving thru water... The consumer needs to be aware that the vehicle cannot be driven thru water... |
