| Description of the problem | The vehicle lost all power due to the ignition failure while driving down the road. This has happen multiple times. Chrysler has acknowledged a problem with the ignition switch design and sent out recall (p41/nhtsa 14v-438) in oct of 2014. They have not developed the part yet to fix this recall. The dealerships don't want to touch it until the part is available. The car will sometimes crank and sometimes will not due to the faulty switch. I have contacted and filed a complaint with chrysler and get the impression they are dragging their feet on this recall. They claim to be developing the part, but that has been 9 months. When the vehicle shuts off going down the road all power is lost including power to the airbags. |
