| Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. While driving 40 mph, the engine revved on its own and the vehicle accelerated to approximately 50-60 mph. The contact applied the brakes and turned off the engine. The contact shifted into park and restarted the vehicle. The engine immediately revved up again. The contact attempted to place the vehicle in gear, but when the shift lever reached reverse, the vehicle jerked backwards and struck another vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact spoke with daimler chrysler and they stated that they would conduct an investigation. The current and failure mileages were 16,500. |
