| Description of the problem | 2006 jeep commander the ignition key is located at knee height and perpendicular to the dash. I have accidentally turned off the car while driving at least three times. This occurs when moving the right knee side to side. Because the key is horizontally located it rotates with little force if striking the dangling keys with the knee. A proper design would be having the ignition on the steering column, or having a slight superior angle to the key ignition. This is easily reproduced on all commander vehicles. |
