| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander 4x4. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the speed reduced to 20 mph while the accelerator pedal was engaged and the transmission warning indicator began to illuminate. The contact maneuvered to the side of the road. The engine was turned off and upon restarting the malfunction continued to occur. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the pcm would need to be reprogrammed. There was a recall related to the failure under nhtsa campaign id number 08v203000 (power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm). The vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000. |
