| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact's leg was rested against the driver's side door when suddenly, the interior plastic door handle fractured. In addition, the front passenger's side door handle exhibited the identical defect. In order to exit the vehicle the window must be released downward to access the exterior door handle to assist with the opening of the door. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that each door panel would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem.
