| Description of the problem | My husband and i financed a used 2006 jeep commander while he was home on 2 weeks of leave from and 18 month tour in afghanistan. About a week after we took the car home it stalled out for the first time. A week after that it did it again and we immediately pulled off the road and took it to the closest dealer which was luckily less than 2 miles down the road. He hooked it up to diagnostics and told us something about the computer recording a freak reading of barometric pressure which is what made the car shut off and that it shouldn't happen again. After my husband returned to afghanistan to fight terrorism for the us army i was driving home after dark from out of town and my headlights started to flicker... The frequency of this kept increasing and each time this happened the interior lights would also flicker and it became increasingly difficult to have the lights come back on. Luckily i got home before they quit working completely. Today, i was at the end of a drive to visit family and the car stalled for the third time in less than a month! I lost brakes, steering, lights, ac, and radio. Traffic was heavy and i narrowly avoided an accident!!!! After about a minute, i was able to pop the car into neutral and get it started again. Thank god my two children were not in the car! I got to my relatives house and began researching this problem and found numerous complaints on the internet, something we were not made aware of when buying the vehicle. The fact that this has happened to hundreds of other families makes me livid. My husband is getting shot at everyday for his country and its okay for an american manufacturer to sell faulty vehicles to people?!?!?! *jb |
