| Description of the problem | We purchased a 2006 brand new jeep commander for safety and reliability reasons. While my wife was driving with our three young daughters on the highway at speeds of 70 mph during the evening hours the vehicle suddenly shut off and lost all power. My wife avoided a serious accident by quickly turning. She later restarted the vehicle and drove the entire trip on the service road. The dealership could not duplicate the problem. The problem has happened several times since to both my wife and myself. The problem has now been id, it's the location of the ignition key being just above the right knee. While driving the jeep close caution must be exercised while driving not to hit the key. Very dangerous and serious situation. *jb |
