| Description of the problem | Windshield started cracking from top edge on passenger side, about 5 inches from the side, for no apparent reason. No evidence of a chip and no rock hit the windshield as far as we know. This happened on a rental car so it's possible that the crack was already started when we picked up the car and we didn't see it - there's a small portion of the glass that is black at the top so we wouldn't have been able to see the crack in this area if it was already there. The crack spread down a couple of inches from the black area and then started across the windshield. |
