| Description of the problem | Several times within the past 2 months, including today; when driving more than 25-35 miles there will be a "service shifter" notification and the associated 'ding' noise notification that comes on. This notification blocks any action on the screen between the speedometer and rpm monitor and only successfully goes away when turning the jeep completely off. This happens while in motion, particularly on highways, and seems to happen more often if i have used or am using cruise control on the trip. It also illuminates all of the lights on the shifter (pnrd +/-). It seems that this could potentially cause a more serious issue with shifting, cause me to become stranded, or become dangerous for myself and other drivers. |
