| Description of the problem | Was driving and in motion when i heard a ding and the "service shifter" alert came on, and all of the gears had the red light on. I have owned the vehicle for 9 months and have never had an electrical issue before. It is not due for an oil change or any other maintenance service. It is at 47,000 miles and when i called the dealership, they said this happens very frequently but is not covered under warranty, and that i would need to replace the shifter and shifter harness. I am very upset and disappointed with jeep that this is a life-threatening issue, and it happens "frequently." please investigate this issue as this is not fair to owners who are now at risk when traveling. |
