| Description of the problem | 2016 jeep cherokee trailhawk - ~57,000 miles. Driving to work this morning (straight at about 40mph) "service shifter" message came over dashboard screen and red lights lit for park, reverse, neutral, drive. The issue went away after restart and i have not encountered again yet (restarted twice since this morning, once at aaa and once to move it when i was at home). I have an appointment with dealership tomorrow. Google search shows this issue to be profound. I'm surprised there is not a recall already but there does not seem to be a consistent answer for why this issue is occurring - hopefully dealership will be able to repair. |
