| Description of the problem | I was driving home and had to come to a full stop due to a traffic light, the engine just shuts down, and there's a message to shift the car to desired gear. The car was on drive but did not respond. I shifted gears from drive to park and got no response from car. It also seemed to indicate the emergency brake was engaged, but it was not. Had to turn off car completely (on a three lane street), and turn it back on again. I got this car 4 months ago, bought it used with 36,000 miles on it and had not had any problems. Now i see this is a recurrent problem on many cherokees, and i'm so disappointed that fca has not looked into fixing this issue. I will have to take to a dealer. |
