Description of the problem	Driving on a busy four lane with heavy truck traffic the engine light goes on and the display states service transmission. You can push the accelerator clear to the floor and the car creeps not more than 25 to 30 miles an hour if it is level, it just drops off! You can't pull a hill. It is like getting run over. Cars and trucks are all over you! Accident waiting to happen. We pulled off the road and turn the vehicle off then start it again. It operates again, but the engine light stays on. We were told by the owner of a transmission shop that it seems like a software programming issue. We called jeep and were told to submit our vin to see if there is recall. There isn't a current recall for our vin. This is a serious safety issue!! We looked on line and found an article on a site called carscoops. Com that there is a recall for what appears to be the identical problem that we experienced. For 2014-17 cherokees like ours. Please help. We don't have the finances for a large transmission repair.
