| Description of the problem | While driving in traffic suddenly lost power. Light on dashboard indicated something with transmission. Dealer inspected and said nothing was wrong mechanically. It needed a software update. We were lucky to have not been rear ended. If nothing was wrong mechanically, it should not have lost power. A notification would have been more suitable. Carcomplaints website has 50 similar complaints about 2016 cherokee dying or losing power for no other reason than the computer. Everyone of them states how dangerous this is while in traffic. |
