| Description of the problem | My jeep does not shift out of first gear and sometimes second until the engine reves up high and then shifts suddenly with a forceful jerk. Sometimes upon acceleration on the highway, the vehicle will down shift as you would expect, and then does the forceful sudden jerk when it goes into a higher gear. It has been forceful enough to feel as though someone has bumped into my vehicle. I have taken it to the dealership and to my independent car repair place and neither can find anything on the computer diagnostics. It happens randomly but has begun to happen more frequently. |
