| Description of the problem | The driver information center says service shifter. When active, the manual shift doesn't work but forward reverse and park do not seem to be affected. If you stop shut off the vehicle and restart, it clears. It started doing this 6-9 months ago once in a while but now does it several times a day depending on amount of driving. We brought it into the dealer to have it checked and they said there was no codes or physical problems but could replace the shifter to see if this would fix the problem. We elected not to do this at the present time. We have heard of accidents from this so we just wanted to notify you that it is happening. We would like to address this before an accident occurs. |
