| Description of the problem | Jeep lost almost all power while in moderate 2 lane (55mph) highway traffic. Without any sort of warning the "check engine" light came on, with a "service transmission" message. Luckily, the traffic behind me was alert so i didn't cause an accident. I coasted to a stop on a very narrow shoulder, turned the ignition off and on then on. I was then able to drive the jeep back home in "limp mode". This is a potentially dangerous issue that appears to have several previous reports. |
