Description of the problem	The car gave a message that the transmission needed service. It then drove a few more miles and then stopped allowing me to accelerate. It was like it was in neutral but the engine would not rev. It did let me drive again after shutting down the car but the pattern continued until we dropped it off at the dealer. We needed to turn the car off and on several times. There was also an unknown smell that came and went. *js
