| Description of the problem | I received a safety recall notice over 8 months ago from fca--p60. Nhtsa# 14v-634. It involves the alternator diodes that may experience a rapid failure. The parts are still not available from jeep. My dealership has put me on a "waiting list." obviously the responsibility is on jeep--not the dealership. Considering the potential danger of the alternator failing, can someone intercede? This is a tragedy waiting to happen to the affected drivers. (see redacted paragraph from recall notice below). The driver will have limited or no detection of the alternator failing, which can result in vehicle shutdown while driving and/or an underhood electrical fire. |
