Description of the problem	When we started to accelerate the jeep jerked into gear. We started to hear a clanking noise and sounded like a part was rattling. Since it did not sound good we pulled over and called a tow truck to tow it to the dealership nearest to us. After the inspection, the dealership told us that the ptu on our 2014 jeep cherokee was busted and the car is no longer able to be driven. Prior to this event we took the jeep into another dealership several times telling them that when we accelerate it jerks into gear. They told us that three updates need to be done on the software of the vehicle. We were told that the updates has to do with the communication of the transmission and the parts that are involved when you accelerate the vehicle. After we completed the updates the jeep drove smooth but then started jerking again shortly after. Now the cost of replacing the ptu is over $2000. We have read multiple forums and feedback from other 2014 jeep cherokee customers that have had the same problem. I have come to the conclusion that this is a manufacturer defect and this should be covered by chrysler.
